WELCOME TO
e-Local Marketplace
Formerly known as Evanston Local Marketplace
an Illinois 501(c) (3) non profit
ECONOMIC IMPACT
There are a myriad of reasons to support local businesses in the community. Neighborhood economics is chief among them. Money flowing in and out of neighborhoods without circulating (multiplying) does little for the morale, aesthetic, availability of jobs and ultimate quality of life for community residents.
The 501 (c)(3) nonprofit, e-Local Marketplace (ELM), powered by elink Gateway™, offers a genuine and viable solution to stimulate local B2B and large institutional spending. ELM/elink Gateway removes the array of barriers small and midsize businesses encounter with procurement opportunities. From their 'go live' date, ELM Sellers are positioned for increased profitability without agonizing over financial, technical and certification requirements typically associated with opportunities of this magnitude.
A 2021 study on the racial wealth gap calculated that a dollar circulates six hours in the Black community, 20 days in the Jewish community and 30 days in the Asian community. (Black Star Project) The local multiplier effect (aka "local premium") is the additional economic benefit accrued to an area from money being spent in the local economy (Wikipedia)
Through e-Local Marketplace the local multiplier effect is made feasible and visible. ELM is a win-win for buyers, sellers, and community residents. Donations assist our non profit in extending registration grants to vetted businesses in need of technical and business assistance prior to fully onboarding. Contact ELM to make a donation to a deserving local small business.

Wendy & Clarence Weaver
C & W Market and Ice Cream Parlor
In 2014 Clarence and Wendy Weaver started C & W Market and Ice Cream Parlor in Evanston. Their concept: offer quality products with genuine concern and commitment to the community. In return they were rewarded by a community that continuously supports their business.
When COVID-19 shook the world, community support took on a whole new meaning. Through their nonprofit, the Weavers assisted local residents through a weekly grocery giveaway. Their foundation continuously helps the community. Neighbors and visitors from near and far, visit their store to support their business. During the summer the C& W ice cream truck delivers cool and refreshing goodness on wheels.
